Stewart’s talent was first discovered when he won at the last United Grappler’s Cup MMA Main Event, last November 4, 2016 on where he won via TKO with barely 1 second left at the third round against Carlo Arteza of Bear’s Cave MMA. Stewart and John “Outlaw” Adajar are set to meet next Friday on April 21, 2017 at URCC Fight Night: Battle Extreme Tournament of Superstars II. Before stepping inside the URCC cage.
Let’s find out what runs on the URCC newcomer’s mind before his much-awaited debut:
1. How does it feel to fight at a big stage (URCC)?
“I feel blessed to finally compete at URCC. I’m just really happy to be competing in the Philippines representing my hometown of Subic and Olongapo. I used to just watch it on TV and hear about it when I was in the US. The URCC is where all the elite fighters meet up and test who’s the best in the Philippines. So, i’m really stoked. I want to fight the best!”
2. How do you see this fight play out against Outlaw?
“Let’s just say it will be an explosive and exciting fight. Outlaw, based from what I’ve been informed lost his last fight. So, I’m guessing he’ll try to make a comeback. He’s young and I believe he can be one of the best in the division in the URCC.”
3. How was your Fight prep towards this big fight against a former title contender?
“Fight prep was really tough because of the rescheduling of the event but I’m glad we were able to complete all aspects of the camp. I trained with the best ground coach and striking coach. So, I really want to see what we accomplished.”
4. Message to everyone, fans, supporters and your opponent?
“My message to everyone of my supporters is thank you for your unconditional continous support and faith, to my fans, I may not have a lot but to those very few, thank you and get ready for an epic fight, and to my opponent, thank you and Goodluck!
I’ll be expecting your very best because i’ll be giving mine. I’m so excited but we all just have to wait and see on April 21. I’m just a MMA fan that loves MMA that turned into an MMA fighter. This is what i chose to do because its what i love. The exhausting training regimes, the meshing of techniques and fighting styles. The skills displayed all over the world, I’m just inlove with MMA as a whole.”
