Universal Reality Combat Championship<\/a><\/u> (URCC) is a mixed martial arts promotion based in the Philippines. It is the first and largest MMA organization in Asia. The URCC was founded in 2002 by Alvin Aguilar, who is also the current CEO. The company\u2019s mission is to promote the sport of mixed martial arts and produce world-class Filipino fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n

The URCC has held over 200 events and has featured some of the biggest names in MMA such as B J Penn, Tim Sylvia, Phil Baroni, Nate Diaz, Rob McCullough, Former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver, Eddie Alvarez, Gleison Tibau, jammed pack arenas and TV ratings. The URCC is currently aired on GMA News TV Channel 11 every Saturday at 10pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MMA In Asia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The URCC has been instrumental in growing the sport of MMA in Asia. When the company was founded in 2002, there were no other MMA promotions in Asia. The URCC has held events in Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Macau, Guam, and Indonesia. The company has also partnered with international promotions such as the International Fight League (IFL), ONE Championship, Bellator MMA, KSW, and Rizin Fighting Federation. In 2015, the URCC hosted the first ever Asian MMA Summit which was attended by representatives from various MMA promotions from all over Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The URCC has also played a role in expanding women\u2019s MMA in Asia. In 2013, the URCC held the first ever women\u2019s MMA event in Asia which featured Vera Lavado from Philippines against Jaimy Lin from Taiwan. The event was a huge success and was attended by over 5,000 fans. In 2014, the URCC held another women\u2019s MMA event which featured Claire Haigh from Australia against Jeet Toshi from India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The URCC has also been a breeding ground for Filipino talent. Some of the most notable Filipino fighters<\/a> who have come out of the URCC are Eric Kelly, Honorio Banario, Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Crisanto Pitpitunge, Roy Docyogen, Justin Gozali, Eugene Toquero, Rey Docyogen Jr, Jenny Huang, Geje Eustaquio, Norman Parke, Joshua Pacio, Rankings as of July 2019 Rene Catalan, Lito Adiwang, Lowen Tynanesand many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
